It's been more than a week..... I re-discovered the RW when I went looking for a mig welder to do a project. While I had to purchase a HH125 ($99 w/AD helmet)to get to that job right now the RWII is in my future plans now.
I was thinking about a 220V mig,but I like the 120V HH so well the next step up will have to be the RWII. I think it has more abilities than a regular mig since it can do thick plate, aluminum,it's portable and it only weighs a few pounds while doing everything a 75# 220v mig does and doing it better to boot. I'm thinking the ability to add more leads so you are up close with your work is a huge plus over the 8' teather to my HH125--It always seems to be just not quite long enough to get there without moving the work or the welder. I passed on a slightly used RWII (without CS)with 100' of leads for $340 before I realized what I did (or in this case didn't do) That's actually what drew me here for more information on the unit itself. I think the RWII with the CS feature is the way to go for my own unit though others may want another model. If you are getting one the top of the line unit isn't that much more than the basic unit..... I blow more than that on misc. stuff in a few months. Things are slow right now(nice weather),but picking up and I just wanted to post something positive. |

I hear ya!!!
Been a little busy here lately selling off a few things and restuffing the coffers. Then I agreed to replace the electric water heater element in the 5th wheel as part of the deal. What a PITA But then the people are paying cash so I guess it's not so bad. Someone just asked about anyone that might have used a RWII over at the Hobart welding forum (He just ordered one & wanted some thoughts about it) I spouted off a bit and plugged the site & forum, but you might want to take a stab at answering his request Ron...I know you've been there before.
http://www.hobartwelders.com/weldtalk/s ... hp?t=30355 is the link ---If I gave out any wrong info "Please" correct me--- those thoughts were just my own understanding of the unit. Later,Dave |

Dave,
Thanks for the heads up but I'm sure that you did well. I haven't been over there in a while, just too many forums, so little time CaptRon _________________ Please Note: My RWII is a 10000ADP that I have used very successfully for over 3 years and counting. new guy here again, just thought I'd chime in on this one...
I have a boaters forum for the famous little dory boats made by the Tolands. Much of my online time is given to it and I used to be a little bothered when it went without any activity at all. No more do I feel that way! lol I just got way too much going on these days cuz we moved to this little town in SE Alaska, after being in one location (Anchorage, AK) for almost 40 years! The site has its faithful that perhaps prefer a less-bizzy "less-BSy" forum? don't know, but it always seems to come back to life, even when aparantly dead for weeks. I'd have a heck of a story for RW if I could honestly say I first found them, but I did not have such luck, instead I ended-up discovering "Zena" welders in some farming magazine first, and then put together a 16x40 (foot) steel shop together out of the two 40-foot hi-cubes we moved here with.... I will say however, I think I NEED the RW to finish the shop with. Things went extremely well with the Zena 150 amp unit on stick, and I also LOVE to do stick, but the more experienced I acquire at using the little MIG I already own, the more I want to just gravitate-over to a mig and call it good! I do see a RW-like gun made to fit the Zena welders, but the price I think was forbidding, a couple years back when I was ordering the unit. I also think I was a little "prejudiced" against MIG units, from what I had seen when I was much younger - I did not think that MIG had penetration like stick, boy was I wrong. Things would have went much faster if I had gone RW instead of Zena, but then again I would not have used up all the stick I had ttfn, great kool looking site, I like the dark background the best! _________________ my babys - Zena 150 (stick), installed on a Toyota Tundra. "HTP MIG 140" (a husky lil 110 volt MIG) "HTP INVERTIG 201" with 3 tig torches... next up Ready Welder |

Hey All-
I just wanted to apologize for the lack of time I am committing to this forum to keep the activity high. I have just been so busy with some major scale opportunities on the horizon. 2009 is gonna be one busy year for me, which is a good problem, but unfortunately, it strips me of time to maintain certain things, like these forums, online store, and the website improvements. I hope to be getting some help in here by February or March, and making that person a bigger part of these great internet tools we have here. I have huge hopes and dreams for the forums and websites, especially for our dealers and distributors, but also for end users and potential end users of the Ready Welder products. We have some exciting things going on here at Ready Welder / WeldStone, and I wanna make sure all of you guys are the first to know. It's all about being in the RW family, right??? Hope everyone has a great New Year, and here's to an awesome 2009! _________________ Sincerely, The ReadyWelder Forum Administrator "Ready Welder II: The World's Most Portable Versatile MIG Welder in the World!" |
